RICHARD ZAMPELLA
Richard Zampella leads Transmultimedia from the production studios at Idylease in Newfoundland, New Jersey. His work spans web and graphic design, commercial photography, advertising, documentary film production and post-production.
Clients work directly with Zampella from the first conversation through completion. For small businesses, restaurants, hotels, organizations and independent professionals, the aim is practical: understand the business first, then make the design, photography and messaging fit the work.
Design That Starts With the Business
At Transmultimedia, Zampella works across web design, graphic design, commercial photography, print advertising, editing and motion graphics. The company serves local businesses and hospitality clients as well as film and television projects.
The scale of the work follows the project. A restaurant website, hotel photography assignment or small-business identity does not need to be treated like a national campaign. The same attention to proportion, clarity and finish applies either way.
Hospitality and Design
Before moving full-time into media production, Zampella spent years in New York hospitality, including the Rainbow Room, Le Cirque, the Plaza Hotel and Essex House. He later built and operated hospitality businesses of his own.
That experience still informs the work: how people move through a room, how a business presents itself, what a customer notices first, and what should stay out of the way. The same questions apply to a website, an advertisement, a photograph or a physical space.
Film and Television
Zampella’s documentary work includes Cooper & Hemingway: The True Gen, Inside High Noon, Elmore Leonard: But Don’t Try to Write and Sergeant York: Of God & Country.
Inside High Noon and Elmore Leonard were distributed nationally by American Public Television and broadcast on PBS and PBS America. Cooper & Hemingway was named a New York Times Critics’ Pick.
Production Studios at Idylease
Transmultimedia operates from the production studios at Idylease, 124 Union Valley Road, in the Newfoundland section of West Milford. The studios serve as the working base for design, photography, editing and production.
Richard Zampella is also widely known in West Milford as the steward of Idylease. He is the son of Dr. Arthur Zampella, who owned and operated Idylease for decades, and today continues that family connection as steward of the historic Newfoundland landmark where Transmultimedia’s production studios are based.
